Babylon. The temple is destroyed and the ark was captured in 587 BC by the Babylonians, who apparently took it with other items of the temple to Babylon (2 Kings 25:9, 13-15; 2 Chronicles 36:18; 2 Esdras 10:21-23). The ark was apparently never found again (Jeremiah 3:16). |
