Jerusalem. Solomon's Temple now replaces the ancient Tabernacle at Gibeon (1 Kings 8).

Babylon. The temple is destroyed and the ark was captured in 587 BC by the Babylonians, who apparently took it with other items of the temple to Babylon (2 Kings 25:9, 13-15; 2 Chronicles 36:18; 2 Esdras 10:21-23). The ark was apparently never found again (Jeremiah 3:16).
